Matcha latte is the quintessential matcha tea beverage in the West. There are increasingly more people replacing their cup of milky coffee with matcha latte, as it not only provides energy but also contains a substantial amount of antioxidants.
Heat 80 ml of water to 80°C and 140 ml of milk or plant-based drink. Pour 1 gram of matcha into a glass or bowl. You can use a strainer to prevent lumps from forming.
Add a small amount of the hot water to the bowl (just enough to cover the matcha) and whisk with an electric or bamboo whisk until a fine layer of foam forms.
Poor the hot milk or plant-based drink (approximately 140 ml) in a cup and incorporate the matcha.
If you want to sweeten your matcha latte, add a pinch of brown sugar or any other sweetener.
